Waves Tune Real Time

Any one used this yet?

I'm really pitchy and have to go over phrases so many times I can end up hating the song!
I use melodyne as well but its not real time. I thought this might improve the workflow so I grabbed it. Haven't had a chance to use it yet.
I noticed they have a few plugs for sale like Aphex Aural exciter for 29 bucks.

Had you thought about trying to fix the problem at source ?
Pitch can be learned, and it's probably the easiest part of singing to fix ( Vs range, phrasing , emotion , tone , song interpretation etc ) .
It's just a constant thing you have to practice until the muscle memory is installed...like a golf swing or a tennis backhand. There's loads of free online lessons and apps to help... I do mine in the car on the commute so it's daily. I bet if you sang along every day for 3 months with one of these types of exercises you'd be pitching much better.

Pitch can be learned, and it's probably the easiest part of singing to fix ( Vs range, phrasing , emotion , tone , song interpretation etc ) .

Yeah I have done it for a number of months in the past but have let it slip lately.
I know that Warren Huart tracks with Auto tune.
I think it will be a useful plugin.

What does your daw have? Cubase has a realtime pitch correct.
if you made a track with the vocal melody, I suppose you could sing one phrase at a time by playing the melody track phrase, and then singing to it, instead of singing the whole song.

Pro tools doesnt have one of those.
I usually do a few takes of the whole song and comp it. Maybe I'll pitch correct it then.
After that its go over it phrase by phrase. Then I'll have to tune that. Its a long process and in the end its probably enforced practice.
The biggest time sink of everything I do is performance, trying to get that up to scratch.

It's probably a good thing going through phrase by phrase? I've seen interviews, like joni mitchell, where she wished she would have phrased something differently in retrospect. Maybe in the real world, more time is spent trying out phrasing, etc, than is actually portrayed?

Personally I use the recordings of the lessons with my teacher and stick them on a usb stick to play in the car but there's tons of free content on YouTube etc and there's Apps that all have free versions depending on whether you're Android or Apple.
Sometimes what people interpret as pitchy isn't always so cut and dried. You might be hitting the actual note but sliding between them which makes it sound off and even nuclear grade auto tuning doesn't fix it.
It's a whole can of worms once you delve into it but it's like anything this game, the more you can get it right at source the easier it is to work with at mix time.

I think the major benefit of a plugin like this is most likely the confidence factor as described here by Ronan Chris Murphy.

It’s just a modern variation of the old trick of playing the vocal melody on a piano or synth along with the singer to help them with their pitch.
