I just watched the keynote release for the Spitfire BBC Orchestra sample library. Wow. I was kind of wondering what I should get as my first sample library and this looks like it. It sounds fantastic and I love the Spitfire ethos. It seems to include everything a budding film/TV type would need to get started. What do you think? Pre-release price for October release is $750 plus $199 if you want it on their 1TB SSD.

I've been looking at this too.
Just watched this "first impression" video last night.

"Scoring with Spitfire's BBC Symphony Orchestra" https://youtu.be/iAtZyWtRRaI

He opens the package, installs and starts working right away. Sounds great.

I agree it looks and sounds impressive (and it seems to include first chairs and is therefore more comprehensive than a lot of other orchestral libraries). I recently bought their studio strings on an external HD and I really like their products (including their free stuff called LABS). BTW - They sent the external HD in some kind of elegant box with a greeting card - really great customer service! If only their stuff was a bit cheaper... :D
Cheers,
Matt

Yeah. It is a little more. But the two really cool things that make it worth it for me are the outstanding training videos and the fact that the musicians that played to make the sample libraries get a royalty check twice a year. Awesome. Great company.
