Depends on your budget.

Once upon a time in the womb forums, this question got asked of the professional mixers and producers there. People like "Woody" (Cyndi Lauper's bass player and music leader), Eric Serafin, even Ken Scott of Beatles/Supertramp fame. I forget who answered, but somebody gave a list of 4 and 5 figure monitors, and the response was "Yeah, but for the poster's money what are you going to recommend that is significantly better that the poster's KRK's?"
That statement has sort of stuck with me until and unless I have the finances to invest a BUNCH more, I've been sticking to my original set of KRK's. Sonarworks Reference 4 I feel has been a game changing piece of software to go with them. FWIW, keep or sweep as you wish, etc.

I use a Dell 27’ monitor. Its “flicker free” so it doesent hurt the eyes from long passes. Very happy with this. Ive also seen guys using 32’ (and up) tv’s as monitors. I wouldnt go less than 27’ inch, though, as there is a lot going on on a daw display. I might add a second 27’ next to have the mixer view on. Ofc it depends on your vision, how close you sit ect as well..

+1 for Dell 27' - I use the same and I am happy with it. I tried an ultra wide one from LG a few years ago but it was, well, too wide for me and I'm used to scrolling through my project so a sufficiently big monitor (27') is all I need.

Treat your room - Get Reference 4 - After that you can mix on anything and know the mixes will travel
