Hi Taxi friends! Firstly I am new to Taxi and this is my first post. I’m looking forward to getting to know some of you!

I would like to ask you, what are some of the best tips you have ever learned in regards to mixing? What helped you the most? What mistakes did you used to make that you now don’t?

I realise it’s a journey that takes time. I’m just curious as to what helped you take your mixes to the next level?

Mixing is just as important as composing. No one wants to hear the greatest composition in the world if the mix is bad.

Tons of great mixing tutorials on YouTube... thousands of them. Recording Revolution is a good place to start for beginners. Also search for tutorials for your specific DAW.

Good luck!

Mixing is easy ... if you have great performers delivering great performances on quality instruments (and voices) of great parts that are recorded well for a great composition with a great arrangement.....and assuming you've got good monitors in a well treated room, and good ears, and know how to use commercially released music as a reference. Get all that right and the track will almost mix itself :). Get it all wrong and no amount of mixing tips will rescue things. I still get it wrong sometimes  .
