I really loved this interview. I've been a long time Lanois fan, even loving his early productions that I didn't know about when I was young in the form of the Raffi records. In college I discovered a record called Desperate Cosmetics by Scott Merritt but it had been made for me on cassette so it wasn't until years later I found out it was produced by Lanois. He's really influenced me in my own music and work as a producer, so it was great to hear a few secrets and tricks, but more than anything, his continued passion to access the source during the recording process. He's clearly a man who is head over heels in love with the craft.
