I am desperate and frustrated
Hi everyone -I continue to have the most irritating problem and really hope someone has a solution. I am working on an album of drumline and cinematic percussion and really need to have a midi drum kit (or midi drum pads) connected to my DAW. My issue is latency. When I connect my Yamaha MIDI kit or a Muse Kinetics MIDI BopPad, the information I play is always lagging what I hear, even after I adjust for latency in my DAW setup. However, when I 'play' drums using my Arturia Keylab keyboard, no discernable delay. I am using Ableton 11 for my DAW and an HP Envy PC running Windows 11. Any ideas as to how to solve this? I suspect it might be that Ableton on a PC requires that you use an ASIO driver, and that might exacerbate the problem? Aggghhh this is so frustrating!

Re: I am desperate and frustrated
I'm a Logic Pro user and have had this happen on occasion on larger projects with my Akai MPD-218. It probably doesn't help that I'm still on an intel mac, lol although I do have 32 GB of RAM. When this situation occurs, I've learned to switch to low latency mode which seems to always solve the problem in my case. I haven't tried lowering the I/O buffer size for midi but obviously do when recording audio, but perhaps it could help. What have you done in the DAW to adjust for latency? I'm not at all familiar with Ableton.
