Is anyone using the Colossus VSTi/DXi ?
http://www.kvraudio.com/news/2914.html
If so, what do you think of it?
It appears that it came out in 2005.
I am looking for a well rounded GM VSTi/DXi plug-in and the Colossus caught my attention.
Thanks,
Randall J

Hey Randall, As Len mentioned it is now upgraded to Goliath and Collussus is no longer available. But I've used Collussus and now Goliath. I found both packages to contain a well rounded selection of samples across the board.....everything from orchestra and choir to pop horns to world to synth to drums and on and on. Obviously if you're looking for orchestral instruments or any other specific instrument group there are not as much depth here as there is in the specialized orchestral or specific instrument group VSTs but you sacrifice depth for variety. And if you find you needed a deeper sample selection you could buy the appropriate VST later. Eastwest produce fantastic product. So if you want a large selection of samples covering many genres and instrument types then Goliath would be a good place to go IMHO.

I have Goliath, which I use a LOT. There is a lot of very usable sound there. But I use the East/West orchestra and all the East/West stuff seems to just combine withe their other libraries very seamlessly. Ie, their engineers make you sound great "almost" out of the box and they all layer very nicely with one another. If you're into horror the morphing patches are the place you'll spend a lot of time.
The electric piano's are fantastic!!!
