So, I'm thinking of buying another library along with east west platinum.
Project Sam is soon releasing Symphobia 2.

Do you guys have any experiences to share? Is it good enough?
Does it blend in good with east west?

Hi! I've got Sam Horns which are amazing. I believe they are in the Giga format. I have separate computers for Giga and EW Gold. The Giga samples blend extremely well with Gold if you use a reverb to blend them in with the Gold ambience. It might take awhile to find the correct reverb (I still use outboard gear for that), but it's really worth it when you take a little time. --- It's possible that Sam horns have built in ambience. It's been awhile since I've used them, so I can't say for sure.

I would guess the new Sam samples have built-in ambience. If they're dry, as I said above it just takes a little work to blend them in, but when you find it, it's magic! ---

I have been using Symphobia for about a year and a half. It sounds terrific (24 bit sample) It's very stable (in Kontakt 4)
and blends well with East West (Gold),

They take a different approach with Symphobia as you most likely know. The section patches have the strings or brass across the entire keyboard and overlap based on ranges, They also have a lot of effects (clusters, woodwind runs etc.) that are very cinematic.

Another very good sounding approach is the string or brass section playing major and minor chords. The are also voiced based on ranges of the instruments. It is nice to be able to add a brass section playing a big fat chord by playing one key!!

I've looked at Symphobia 2 and it is an extention of this same cinematic approach. I will probably add that to my bag of tricks after I scale the LASS learning curve.

Would I buy Symphobia again? Absolutely. Would I use it as my only orchestral library? Not likely.
