Anyone using Komplete 8? I'm thinking of springing for it. I have Abysyth5 and I love using it.

I have Komplete 6 but I can't update yet as K8 is incompatible with Kore 2 for the time being. All the synths are amazing. I haven't used Battery yet. Kontakt is a must have. All the other stuff is a bonus.

I still have Komplete6 (the upgrade to 7 wasn't worth it imho) I still haven't shelled out the cash for it... thought I was gonna but other things came up. I looked at all the goodies ya get and it's worth it imho. I plan on getting ultimate BUT who knows... with the Kirk Hunter group buy going on right now... spending $$$ anywhere else is just not an option for me right now... I want Concert Brass II so bad I can taste it hehe

Concert Strings II ... got my eye on that as well IF the GB hits 300 and we get 75% off... I am BUYING!!!

Oh btw... audiomidi.com has "bundle/package sale" going on right now for Komplete 8. Might wanna check that out.

I bought it a month ago and I figure in a couple of years I'll figure it out ;)
Seriously, it's great, the sounds are incredible and for the money your getting a lot, over 112GB of sounds.
The drums, synths, organs, guitar etc... are simple to use. For me, Battery is still a bit of a mystery. I need some training.
The online tutorials work on the assumption that you're already at an advanced level and are not helpful to beginners.
If your new to it like me, you need to find some people with experience and bend their ear, big time !
My only advice is to buy the more expensive version. it downloads much faster and there are extra's.
My version ( Komplete 8 ) took 12hrs to load.
Have fun with it. You won't be sorry !

Rich.

I'm buying it when it's on sale, hopefully this December.
I'm not buying the ultimate edition though.

I'm doing a major upgrade to my studio in a month.

I'll get back to you when I have installed it and tried it!

are you lookin to load up your own samples/drums or use the preset kits?

it's really just a soft-sampler. go through the kits and find something you wanna work with, and go from there. if you want certain cells routed to different channels (other than master), I can walk you through that.

if you want to load a sample, i like to use the browser, I think it's over to the right, near the "master" tab I think. once you've found a sample you want to use, highlight the cell you want to put it in, you might be able to drag and drop, but I usually double click on the file in the browser and it loads into the highlighted cell. careful you don't put more than one sample into a cell, unless you want to. if you did, go to "mapping" tab, highlight the sample you don't want, and hit delete.

then you'll want to assign a midi trigger, in the furthest left tab, look for a "learn" button, press it, then press the midi note or range you want to assign it, the midi note range will appear and you're off!

not sure i got the tab names right, just going off memory, but that is the gist of getting started (loading sample, playing sample).

lemme know how it goes..
