I'm interested to hear which EZ Drummer kits you like. I have the basic kit plus the Nashville kit...love them both.I'm thinking the Drum Kit From Hell for the faster stuff next. Hey Devin,I have the standard kit, the Nashville kit and the Vintage Ludwig kit. The Nashville kit sounds great right out of the box. That said, I really like the vintage kit. Great for period stuff -- classic Rock, etc. Lots of people feel that it's 'muddy'. I've found with some comp and EQ it can sound very lively, and I daresay modern.With a 2fer deal like that you can't hardly go wrong. I'm thinking about the Funk Kits and possibly the twisted kit.Cheers

You definately need to get the DKFH, I think you'll love it and want to marry it! the Claustrophobic kit is one of my favorite too, it's a really cool sounding kit and it has a ton of user presets, i haven't found many to be that useful but you know how that goes, it's nice to have. I'm not that hip to hip-hop but i think it could be a valid kit for that. (when i hear "bleeding love" by leona lewis i feel like they used that kit). the Vintage kit, i'm not that crazy about, i actually prefer the standard rock kit over it, just my opinion. (teleblaster, just saw your post, muddy is a good way to describe the Vintage kit, maybe with some tweaking it would be fine)For you Devin, I'd recommend the DKFH and the Claustrophobic kit.

Devin, If you can afford it, I'd go for the upgrade to Superior Drummer 2.0 and get the DFH as the free expansion pack deal. The stock kit that comes with SD 2.0 is amazing, not to mention all the extra control that you get with the upgraded interface. If that's not an option, then I'll second Mark's recommendation and suggest DFH and Claustrophobic.- Big Blue

Once more, I feel blessed to have such talent tell me how to spend my money! Woo-Hoo!I'm leaning towards the DfH right now (from the local music shop), and then use the order form to get the Claustrophobic kit in the 6-8 weeks time.Anyone else want to chime in...speak now (or before Monday noon) or forever hold your peso's!

I like the Vintage kit for jazz, the brushes sound nice. I've used it for some funk stuff as well. If you need brushes, it's a nice mellow sound. (I know the Nashville kit has brushes too, just a different sound)All of these expansions sound good, but I'm with Big Blue, the Superior Drummer Avatar kit sounds AMAZING. I know all the expansions will work with it too. I think for rock and harder stuff, the kits you're choosing will work well. For hip hop, I can't say for sure. I think you can get anything to work if you tweak it enough.Have fun!!Mazz

And then when the piggy bank is a little bit more plump, you can get the crossgrade to Superior Drummer and still use those expansion packs. Compatibility... it really is a beautiful thing - Big Blueps - I had a chance to work on some tunes with my brother this past weekend and we used the Claustrophobic kit on them, one was kind of a "High Octane" type song and the other was more, well, I'm not sure what style it is to be honest. I'm planning on posting them later as I'd love some feedback on them.

I know my post is late but..... I did the two for one special about a month ago - great deal, for the sake of building my collection. I have about 5 now, but have only used the standard Rock/Pop kit so far.Really looking forward to using the 'Latin' kit..... for some island style Pop ala Jimmy Buffet...... wrote another 'fun in the sun' song but havent fleshed any tracks out for it yet. I picked up the 'Twisted Kit' and will either order the Latin percussion set, or dfh for free; already have the vintage and nashville sets. The twisted kit lives up ( or down as it were ) to it's name. Some of the grooves sound like a mic was dropped into the engine room of a steam battleship at flanking speed; righteous stuff. I'm looking forward to incorporating it into some filthy slide guitar pieces. If nothing else it should pay for itself as sound effects.Cheers,
