Hello friends!I hope everyone is doing well. I am currently looking for some recording equiptment for my PC. I am not looking for too fancy, but enough to make recordings that would be high quality enough for demos to send to companies like Taxi.Anyone have suggestions/links,etc. I would appreciate it. Thanks!

It would be easier to answer your question if you let us know what you already have in the way of mics, preamps, etc. Also a rough budget figure is helpful. If you're starting from scratch and you want to do song demos to pitch songs, then you might be able to go with a simple Firewire or USB interface and a decent condenser mic. or two (if you do vocals and guitar at the same time you'll probably need two mics). If you want to do songs that serve as demos and also as broadcast quality masters for film/tv, then that ups the ante depending on the complexity of the arrangements. If you want to do things that sound like a full band then you'll need software instruments that sound great and a MIDI controller to input the data. There's tons of info on this forum and other forums regarding this. Give us some more details on what you want to do, your budget and musical goals. In the meantime check out companies like M-Audio, Presonus, RME, TC Electronic, Mackie or surf around online retailers like Sweetwater, Musicians Friend, Sam Ash, etc. They all have the same gear and similar prices and its searchable and categorized.Cheers,Mazz

Hi supdog,There is a wealth of information here. I think you might need to narrow down what it is that you are looking for. Do you play an instrument? Sing? Are you wanting to multi-track your recordings (record more than one thing at a time) or would you be content just laying down one part at a time? What kind of budget do you have to work with? In addition to the forums here, you might check out:http://www.gearslutz.com/board/There is a lot of discussion there on recording setups.A few others:http://forum.recordingreview.com/http:/ ... ex.phpBest of luck to you.

Maybe I should learn ho to spell equipment first, eh? Thanks for the input.I have a nice mic, and a guitar with a pickup. My father has an older amp that I could use.
