Not really a machine for audio, but man, it's sure slick.

LOL,that reminds me of that "Saturday Night Live" sketch about the iPods...where "Steve Jobs" was holding a press conference and while he was talking several new iPod models were released and became obsolete again...the smallest of which, "iPod pequeno", was the size of a pin head and held 500 gazillion hours of video...

Yeah, looks cool but no firewire made me turn the page. I guess I'm not as much of a Mac fanatic as I thought I was! That 8 core Mac Pro still is drool-icious though!MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMazz

I agree that, while not really built for audio production, it's pretty freakin' amazing! Check out the little video about it on apple's site if you haven't already, it has some awesome features and is really innovative. As far as the 8 core Mac Pro, I'm actually looking to get one in about a week or so, and I am excited...it'll definitely be a step up from my little Ibook G4 that I've done everything on for the past three years! I guess that's probably an understatement... Dan

It makes my 1" thick PowerBook G4 look so bloated. (Tongue firmly in cheek.) It does have some slick features, but the lack of Firewire port is a deal breaker to me, especially since Apple has never made the system bootable from an external USB drive (unless they changed that now). I back up my system weekly to a FW disk and can always boot from that if the internal drive gives out (which it did in early '07).I'm with you daniel, in terms of wanting to go bigger, not smaller. I'm green-eyed and drooling at your imminent 8 core upgrade...
