I have just bought RMX and I have a bit of a problem getting it authorised.I have got a G5 with Logic 7.2 which I am still learning how to use.The problem is,my Mac is offline and if I use my PC to get the RMX authorisation the Mac won't read the PC authorisation.Also it says I should download RMX 1.5 off their website so I am a bit confused about how to do that.Any help would be appreciated.

Is there any way you could temporarily connect the mac to your internet connection? That's what I did with mine when I registered Stylus RMX.I'm not helping, am I?

You are helping bren,connecting the G5 to the net is my last resort because that in itself is quite involved.Still hoping somebody might have an alternative.

The G5 should connect pretty easily unless you have problems getting an ethernet cable to your Mac's location. Most Macs will pretty much connect right up.Then you can just pull the plug until you need to authorize something again.And yes, download the latest version of Stylus.Hope this helps,Mazz

Spectrasonics uses a challenge/response authorization, so it shouldn't matter which machine you use to connect to their site - just give them the challenge and their system will generate a response. My guess is that there's a totally different problem if the response code isn't working, and you'll want to call Spectrasonics tech support to sort that out.

Yeah, connecting to the internet is very simple these days - although you should get a router for that rather than having one computer share its connection. It gets a little tricky if you have lots of machines and need to give them all individual IP addresses (rather than using DHCP to assign addresses automatically, which is what you should do if you only have two), but other than that there's nothing to it.You probably want to use a wireless router as a firewall anyway.
