Yeah I was gonna mention Scarbee too; there's also the "Tubed Wurli" from Sampletekk: http://www.sampletekk.com/products.php?cat=41I don't have it (the Wurlitzer in NI's Elektrik Piano works for me), but people seem to like it...

I played lots of gigs on a Rhodes with legs too. Thankfully, they invented gear easier to carry!How about piano samples? When playing live instruments, I like pianos like the Steinway Grand (of course, who wouldn't?). But I've never heard a sample that was anywhere close.

But I've never heard a sample that was anywhere close.IMHO, the current top-of-the-line piano samples (Syntogy Ivory, NI Akoustik Piano, and the best from Sampletekk and Post) will fool just about anyone in a recording. Of course playing a piano sample from a midi controller will never be the same as playing a real Grand, for reasons that are quite obvious, I think.

You can use HALion as an Audio Units plug-in (on Mac, of course). I'm not sure whether the PC version will work with the latest HALion VST.And I agree with matto, plus I'd add Art Vista to the list. Have you heard any of these sampled pianos, Nomi? They've come a long way in the past couple of years.But a Rhodes is always going to be easier to emulate (with samples or anything else) due to its much simpler sound. There's a big difference between the near sine wave produced by a tine, which is like a tuning fork, and three piano strings.
