February is Album Writing Month! This year it's 14.5 songs in 29 days!!

Hey Hummingbird, I just signed up for the challenge but not sure if I'll be able to keep up the pace. Couple of questions if you don't mind, I couldn't find much info on the site:Do they have to be completed songs (recorded, full instrumentation) or just scratch versions (guitar & vocals)?Jingles, shorts count (30 sec - 1 min)?What exactly is the organization? They mention donations etc. but not what for.Thanks and good luck ... Geo

Some people write lyrics, some write instrumentals, and some write complete songs, and some write a mix of those 3. Whatever you write is worktape, not fully produced (unless you want) -- the key, and why I do it, is to write something, then let it go and move on to writing the next one. I think anything counts, so long as you write.The organization is February is Album Writing Month, donations are voluntary (if you donate $10 and finish your 15 pieces you get a free album hosting from CD Baby). The donations go to the cost of hosting the site & server.

I just signed up. My goal is to have lyrics and music on all pieces. But I am committed to doing 14 songs - even if some of them are instrumental only.I've added both Vikki and Geo to my watchlist. Here's to intensity.Trent

Great! I'll be watching you!I should mention, there is also the RPM Challenge --- which is to record & produce 10 songs in the month of February. These songs can be already written (although some folks do the two challenges together)

I found you guys, you are in my watch list, got a couple of good ideas scribbled down and ready to go. My goal is to complete as many as I can but at least have the genesis of 15 songs, to be fine tuned over the year. Humm, nice way to guarantee a decent year's production, thanks HB.
