So this is 50 songs written and fully produced in 90 days? It sounds like something I'd like to do, but I'm afraid it might kill me. It's the recording that gets me. Would this include instrumentals? Dave

The point is to challenge yourself to write... and keep writing... and at the end you will have many songs you wouldn't have written without the challenge... and at that point you can rewrite, edit, produce, etc.Usually folks have a soundclick page or something so they can post a link to their worktapes as they go. cheersHummin'bird

Quote:uh huh - how about you, Steve? Might keep us off the forum... (or maybe posting lots of new songs )Wait a minute, this forum brings me great joy and connection... I never feel like I spend too much time here, no never at all... Vikki, I would truly love to try it. But I know what havoc this would wreak in my life. I already have at least 20 things on the go, and that's at least 15 too many. My "when I get around to it pile," would become larger than my ability to cope with it. I would sink back into my creative guy "depression," and feel less fulfilled that I wasn't getting enough recordings completed and moving. Now if there was only a competition to find 50 new places to make money from my music. Oh yeah, I forgot, I'm already doing Taxi.

I can dig it....ArkJackEach songwriter challenges themselves to write 50 new songs in 90 days (from July 1st to Sep 30th). That's about 1 song every 1.8 days, lol. Co-writes are fine too. The point is to challenge yourself to write everyday... and struggle to find ideas and come up with something, somehow. It's not about perfection (or production values), it's about creativity & reaching down deep inside, reaching over the block that says "I can't / I don't have time / that's impossible / etc. etc." and doing it anyway. When I did FAWM (February -- 14 songs in 28 days), I spent 4 days writing & recording the first piece - then I realized, I don't have time for perfection. I just have to write. I think the exercise helped me move forward. It allowed me to "let go" of a piece and move on, and leave the re-writing until later.Just go the "50 songs in 90 days" link in my first post and sign up. We can cheer each other on!
