I produce some very eclectic albums. Some basically metal, some pop, some alt and indie rock, and most recently I've been doing some progressive-rock/hip hop. Yes you read that correctly, progressive-rock and hip hop!

I feel like some of this is marketable, but I don't know where to put it?
I also just did an entire album where I played all of the parts (including percussion and bass lines) on a clean direct in Telecaster. Some of these quakier records I do actually get the most positive feedback, so I'd like to try submitting a few... problem is I don't often see Taxi listings for prog/hip hop or for instrumental electric guitar... I feel like some of this music would work great for TV and film, some a label might be interested in! I just don't know how to place it.....

If anyone is interested I can upload some of this to show you. You can listen to my whole "Clean" album on my bandcamp site (http://www.michaelzucker.bandcamp.com).

Heya Mark.

I checked out 'Clean,' 'Inner Demons' and 'Technocracy.'

Yes those albums evidence an eclectic style, but I can hear your voice running through them all. Great stuff by the way. I really like them.

I agree with you that your songs would be good for TV/Film. And I also agree that finding listings with your specific styles are gonna be difficult. (haha I said specific about eclectic stuff... what an oxymoron!) I think what may be holding you back is the term "progressive." Absolutely your stuff is "progressive," however, if you take out that word and describe the songs with all the other terms that can be used for each different style you've produced, then I think you can find listings that fit. For instance, there was a recent listing looking for Cinematic Trip-Hop. I already heard a handful in those albums that could have fit that listing. If you want to place songs you've already produced, then listen to the a-la's referenced in any listing that may be close to your style and try to think of something of yours that sounds like that. (obviously not Country or Singer-Songwriter or Authentic Italian Folk, though) Also with your skills, I bet you could produce music specifically targeted to listings.

Good Luck. And I say "luck" because you've obviously got the skills, all you need is a break.

Clean is great!

Reminded me of song you might hear in a Wes Anderson movie, Life Aquatic... Rushmore, I think you should send this directly to him :)

Thanks so much guys for listening to some of my work and the great comments!

I think Russell has a good point, I keep searching for 'progressive' in the opportunities and come up empty handed... Maybe I do need to drop that descriptor... the question is then what do I look for instead?
Cinematic Trip-Hop... I remember seeing that listing but really didn't think I had anything that fit that....

Thanks again for your help, I'll keep truckin' along and hopefully I'll find some listings that fit!
