Hi guys,

I've really gotten a lot out of the Barron's AP Music Theory book.

I know that music theory is not for everyone, but if you're trying to find out more info about it, this book might help.

Best,

Wendy Landers

While it is certainly not recommended for the beginner, my personal favorite is “The Jazz Theory Book” by Mark Levine. He goes from major scales to exotic scales to exotic chords to melody reharmonization. All discussions are real life examples in notation.

This book probably launched my life of music.

Thanks, CEMundt! :) & it's good to hear from you Charlie.

I'm getting back into jazz, so I may pick up that book.

If you've read the book Harmonic Experience: Tonal Harmony from Its Natural Origins to Its Modern Expression, let me know what you think about it. I'm on the fence about getting it.

Best! :)
