Collaborations with singers?

Hi I am pretty new to Taxi and wanted to know how the ones of you who don't sing their own stuff, actually do things with the singers you "hire" or "work with" contractwise?

Are there any standard contracts one can use? And what if one doesn't want to spend a fortune to pay demo singers? Are there any collaboration models being used for such cases? I would be grateful for every huint how to approach this topic, as I am planning to produce my own music featuring unknown singers and I don't really know how to frame the collaboration in a contract?

Thanks on advance for every hint!

Regards from Switzerland,
Nicolas

This is not a recommendation, as I haven't used the service, but I think you could pick up some ideas, here: http://demosinger.com/

Lots of singers need demos, so it shouldn't be difficult to work out a barter deal. Professional demo singers often have their own contracts, and example contracts can be found in various music biz books-search "music business contracts" on Amazon. If you intend to release the results to the general public or license the songs, you'll need a work for hire agreement (means the singer has no participation in royalties) and will need to pay master rates (as opposed to demo rates) if the singer is in the union. This might work a little differently in Switzerland, but applies if you hire a US singer.
