Hi all,
I recently joined you on this and promised some tunes to share, still working on it.
Busy summer and stil didn't got the time promote myself shamelessly
I don't share this is in the "Shameless promotion"-corner because I don't want to promote or brag about it. I'm looking for some genuine honest constructive feedback.
A client asked me to compose 30sec. of music for a promotion about organ donation.
I delivered this and the client is very happy with it.

I have to say it's my first attempt to compose, record, sequence and mix a full symphonic arrangement for professional use. Most earlier stuff I did was mostly digital sounding sound (because the clients asked for it).
I'm looking for some honest feedback because I don't get goosebumps about it which it should do.
Is there something wrong with me or with the tune?
Thanks in advance for any feedback.
Cheers
Henry

Hi Henry, I really enjoyed that!
Peer2Peer section is your best bet to grab feedback, try re posting in there.
Sorry I'm not able to offer crit myself, never done anything in this style!
Sounds like a done deal to me, customer happy, audience happy, musician (ahh ... never happy : )

There were some syncopated notes in the countermelody that anticipated the beat in a way that was uncomfortable to my ear, but this was perhaps intended to be unsettling or provocative? Thought the mix, in particular was brilliant for a television spot, where it's important to get the listener's attention. Good job!

Hey guys,
Thanks for the feedback ! I really appreciate it.
I will move this post to the peer2peer-section as Sedge pointed me out. Thanks for that.
@mojobone: are you talking about the syncopated notes at 0:25 and 0:29?
If so: I inserted those ("PA-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-papapa") trying to get movement
to the next measure. Tried to keep the listener on their toes and maintain interest.
I kind of agree that they are in between the "normal" rhythm but they didn't feel
unpleasant to me when I wrote them. But then again, it could be me

.
Mixwise: I decided to keep it very brilliant. It was showed for 8weeks before every
movie in 25 movie theaters but the main purpose still is broadcasting.
I did a test vision in a 800pax theater and it sounded awesome but most of the
low end got lost (and kind of messed up the low mid) when showed on television.
I had to compromise and remember the long term purpose of this.
AGAIN A MASSIVE THANKS for the feedback, if you have more? keep shooting!!!
Cheers Henry
