Anyone ever hear of / deal with the Paramount Group? They send out an email called the Nashville letter, and have a songwriting contest.

I've entered their songwriting contest (lyrics only) back in May/June 06. They told me I won the Directors Award and I was still in line for the Grand Prize and First Prize awards. They were saying how professional my writing was and how they wanted to record it and pitch it to the major companies on their strip. They even sent me a songwriters contract. BUT....... they wanted me to pay them to put my lyrics to music. Even thou they claim all their music is original for every song, I still felt uneasy paying money to a company I never heard of. At first I thought they were associated with the movie / film company of the same name. They sent me two more follow up letters saying how they don't offer this deal to just anyone and how I should take advantage of this opportunity but they reminded me of the music companies in the magazines I dealt with as a kid writing poems.

i have used them for 6 demos and have never been disappointed. they are reasonably priced, do a good job of producing songs if you only have lyrics....you do receive a lot of form letters. but they are in business to make a lot of songs for a lot of people. i think they are a great place to start if you are new to the process. they do what you ask them to do as far as style of song produced and melody, have good musicians and singers. i have paid 4 or 5 times what they charged. overall, quite satisfied....listen to the songs on my taxi page for a good sampling of their work....several are theirs, others are high dollar ones from new york and los angeles producers...let me know...

Keep your distance from Paramount! They recorded a demo for me, but they changed my melody and the key to fit their singer's range! I contacted them to let them know I was not happy with the end product. They promise they would rerecord, but I never heard from them again.

Paramount group uses stock melodies, publishers know what a stock melody sounds like and they throw out your cd upon the first clue, not a good idea to deal with ParamountI sent Paramount two lyrics one year, one crappy one and one good oneThey both were given single song contractsBottom line is, GOOGLE is a useful tool and people should utilize itThen you won't be taken for a ride
