Yes, "February is Album Writing Month" starts Sunday February 1st at 00:01 hours. Are you in? The challenge is to write 14 songs in 28 days. Songs, instrumentals, lyrics. Demos or fully produced. Sign up on the FAWM site and take the plunge! Why? Because it's fun. Because you'll be pushing yourself to write. Because maybe you'll write something you wouldn't have written without challenging yourself. Sign up here:

I've looked the other way for two years now, since I first heard of it. I always figure this would just be really annoying to my family, sort of like leaving for a month, or starting a new drug habit. Well, that's probably about right...but I'm going to do it anyway.I'll need to be smart about time because I work six day weeks, about 60 hours a week. I mainly have Tuesday and Wednesday mornings to get it done, so I'll need to write 3-4 songs over the course of those mornings four weeks in a row. Seems doable. But like Jo told me over at Tunesmith..."Pressure can burst pipes or make diamonds." I'm hoping for the latter.Good luck to all y'all!

I first heard about FAWM last year (right after it ended - doh) and decided I had to do it. I work a lot also so I'll have to be creative with time management.I'm going to be collaborating with a bunch of friends I have jammed with over the years so I'm looking forward to more than just the songs that are created. We've scheduled several extended "jam" sessions to see what we get. We'll also be composing alone and in sub groups to get all of the tunes done in time.I'm at

Holy MOLEY. All this time (nearly 18 months now), I've believed that this whole thing was just a great idea out of YOUR (Vikki's) head. There is a website for this?? Amazing. so, considering I only read the opening post on this thread, this may well be a absurdly redundant question, but...How do I find this site? Do I go to "February is Album Writing Month".com? FAWM.com?Rather than embarrass me here in public (something I figure I've already done enough on my own) any further, PM me with this info, if you would. Thanks.(Y'all forgive me...but I've just watched a friend of mine go from fine to looking weird to starting to cry to grabbing the right side of her head to collapsing onto the floor and going into seizure. I'm a little freaked out, and probably am trying to distract myself right now. I promise, I really AM interested in the answers to the questions I posted here.)Ted

(and I haven't written anything with lyrics for years so that is kind of fun. I was inspired by the other songs I heard at the FAWM web site. Now I just have to add music and record them...) You can listen to my pieces/ read the lyrics here...Midsummersnight

http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default ... D=7322346I am a little behind since I have only done 5 songs so far and the rest of the month is kind of crazy (5 performances with two different orchestras + scoring a documentary) but hopefully I have time to write some more... Either way FAWM has inspired and motivated me to write more than I would have otherwise - and that is something!~ Lydia
