Hey, good one, Dave. As a kid, I loved watching Johnny Quest too...such intricate plots for a cartoon show...well, except for Scooby Do.

I love the old TV themes, especially "The Muppet Show" and "Spiderman". Here's a fun web site that has a huge collection of TV themes:
http://www.televisiontunes.com/And, just for fun -- did you know that the original Star Trek theme song (which is uber fun to play as a jazz combo piece) also has lyrics (written by Gene Roddenberry himself)? Here they are (and, as Dave Barry often says, "I am NOT making this up!"):STAR TREKBeyond the rim of the starlightMy love is wandering in star flight.I know he'll find in star-clustered reachesLove, strange love, a star woman teaches.I know his journey ends never;his Star Trek will go on forever. But tell him, while he wanders his starry seas, remembers . . . remember me . . . . . . . .'splains a lot about Captain Kirk's galavanting-ness . . . ,Suz

Spiderman and the Flintstones, Sat morn cartoons. Playing the Flintstones theme at about 220bpm, is fun, but for trained professionals only...Then I noticed this, and of course, my non-smoking wagon is seriously wobbling. Are there any musical artists, brave enough to allow a cigarette company to sponsor them now?

"The Flintstones" is based on the chord changes to "I Got Rhythm" by George Gershwin.Jazzers like to play this one. If somebody knows the melody, everybody can play the tune.Writing a new melody to existing chord changes became popular during the bebop era and is still used as a compositional device to write jazz tunes today.Chuck
