So glad I went ...

Almost didn't go after a rough year of music and distractions, but at the last minute I decided to.

I admit last year's Rally (my first) was a bit overwhelming and it took me a while to write anything once I got settled. I got to experience how high the bar really is and how much more I need to learn to be able to compete.

However this year, lots of magic happened. I focused only on the things I needed to, worked on a few industry VIPs, and met some absolutely amazing people. Every conversation was wonderful, even if it wasn't about music. I was SO depressed the morning I checked out of the hotel, but knew the next day would begin a new, more serious leg of this endeavor.

Theres incredible energy there and it's just one of those things you have to experience to understand. Taxi pays me nothing to say this. Quite the contrary, actually

This year will be a great one. It already is ...
:D

Well said Peter - yeah, I think the first one shows people how much there is to learn, but after that you can really dig into the actual learning. :)

Hope to chat with you more at the next one. Great pictures, by the way - thanks so much for posting those!

Cheers,
Bob

Hey Peter,
It was great to meet you! Hope to see you again next year. I think each time you kind of figure out a little bit more of a rhythm and it gets a little more useful each time. This was my third Rally and each time I've gotten a little bit more out of it than the last. So next time, being your third, should pay off in spades for you!

Hey Peter! It was great meeting you. My first Rally and not the last. It was exhausting. Miss all my Rally friends. Came back to a place where all the local musos want to pull you down. Not lift you up like Taxi members who in my opinion are real pros.

The bar is high but I like it that way.

Hope to see you again next year. 8-)

I couldn't agree more with everything everybody said here. You are not going to find a more supportive group of successful people anywhere. It was an extreme learning experience where not a second is wasted. I recommend it highly and look forward to the new friendships and experiences to come here on the forum and at next year's rally.

I'm already there ;)
The people i have met on here have already changed my life.
I must be in the same neighbohood as theelement because I've never met one musician face to face that is half as supportive AND knowledgable as EVERYBODY here seems to be.
I've done better and more productive collaborations with taxi forum members from thousands of miles away (montreal, canada here) than i've ever done with someone standing in front of me.
The bar is REALLY HIGH yes, but when you have ten guys willing to stand on each others shoulders to get you there... Well, i guess you just have to watch your balance!!!!
Kudos to TAXI AND IT's forum!
I joined less than a month ago, not even for the purpose of collaboration and i've done 3 and discussed a fourth already.
LOVE YOU GUYS! And i will NOT miss another road rally, hopefully for the rest of my life :)

Richard – And you too, sir! :D

Rob – Absolutely! It takes some longer to realize than others (I was one of the stubborn ones initially), but it really really is! :D

Cheers guys!!
