Thoughts after missing the rally this year

Hey gang!
It's been a bitter sweet feeling reading all of the familiar posts about what an amazing experience the 2017 rally was for them. It's been a very difficult year for me in a lot of ways as I took a few hard hits financially and with time, but one of the hardest things was missing this years rally.
It's kinda funny in a way because after going to the rally for 4 years in a row I thought missing a year might not be a big deal or something that would feel like a restful break. There were some positives, one major one was being home with the family and enjoying extra time together when I would typically be away from home missing everyone.
What hit me most was the wave of nostalgia and appreciation that came over me as I watched the flood of posts and pictures that the taxi community were all making while the rally was on. It struck me how many ways I have to be grateful to ML, taxi and the community probably even more so as I sat on the sidelines watching you all participate in the workshops, events and social gatherings. My music family grew by hundreds in the first year after the rally. I got my first library deal through the rally my first year. All of my major deals and placements have come from taxi and the rally. I've signed with 20+ publishers, all connected through taxi collaborations and rally introductions. Most importantly I've connected with a group of peers and friends who I will cherish for the rest of my life.
Final thought on the taxi road rally.....
No, I'm not missing the rally next year ! Missing it once was more than enough to make me realize it is not an option.
