See a lot of love for the rally, maybe it's right in front of me, but when is the rally exactly?

Michael announced on Taxi TV recently that it was from 8-11 November 2012.

I thought the Rally was a Friday morning through Sunday evening event. The 8th is Thursday. Is Thursday a full-schedule day or just the arrival date?

Thursday is the "stand in the registration line" party. On paper that doesn't sound like much fun, in reality it's just the opposite.

You might want to hold off actually booking the hotel though, as there's usually a special Taxi price that's announced in good time before the rally.

I don't have a date for the rally... My wife frowns upon that sort of thing.

And yes, you can wait a while before booking the hotel. Sometimes as the date gets closer, even better specials on the hotel rate are offerred. (Not always)...

You need to confirm this but regarding airfare, I think Southwest has a price guarantee whereby if you book now and the fare goes down afterwards, they will change you to the lower price.

I already registered for it, but I didn't even notice the dates AND that it's a week LATER than I expected.

I thought it was ALWAYS the FIRST thursday-weekend in November!!!!??? I was so sure! HA!
