The rally was once again great!
Post here what you learned and what goals you have for the next year, or what goals you would like to set. Here are some of mine:
Per Chuck Schlacter's Class:
Determine how many targeted songs I would like to write this year.
Determine a realistic number of hours per song it will take me
Figure out the number of songs per month I would have to write to reach my goal
Figure out the number of hours per week I would need to spend in the studio
Schedule those hours onto a weekly calendar that considers my day job and family
DO THE WORK!!
Buy The War of Art and read (already doing as of tonight)
Other:
Buy Fett's mixing book (done!) and continue to get better at home recording
Create a TAXI hang in my local area
Learn guitar (started)
Network and collaborate with 5 new people
I think that's enough for now... YOUR TURN!!!
-Shell

1) Find one to two TAXI industry listings per month and write/record/submit to them.
2) Create and work in line with a DAILY music agenda per John Mazzei's recommendation to work on something musical EVERY day.

1) Create music that is Excellent and realize that good-enough isn't good enough but perfection is unattainable.
2) Continue to do something everyday
3) Expose my music to more critique and learn from it
4) Collaborate and/or incorporate other musicians in my music.
5) Help others.

I second those goals Shell, Chuck's class was one of the best I went to. Thanks for starting a goal thread!
Some of my goals:
-Organize the heck out of my tracks by mood/style
-Use Chuck's time system
-Figure out the best way to back up my tunes
-Read a ton and learn something new everyday and apply it to writing
-Get on the forum a bit more. THE MOST valuable tool in my mind for improvement.
I'm sure there's more, but it's the morning after coming home and my brain doesn't know where I am.
Here's to the coming year and all you awesome musical folks!

I finally realized that I needed to set a specific time schedule because I'm so easily distracted with my other daily responsibilities. So 9am to 1pm is music career time. And I'm just now finishing my first day. Feels good!

-One of my goals is to RETURN to next year's Taxi so I can make it two in a row!
-Contact the guys who write music for Phineas and Ferb and try to write a song about Stapling Bacon To Your Lips for them. (or something awesome like that)
-Have a set time daily for music creation/thinking that works with family schedule.
