Just notified by my lovely insurance company that the National Flood insurance guys have finished drafting new flood zones and our premiums went from 300/yr to 1700/yr. And they have to be paid by November 4 (happy birthday to me!)So alas, while I had the Rally in my fist, it was grand!! Give everyone huge hugs from me, k? Have a blast, make deals, don't forget to raise one in my memory. And who knows? Maybe next year! Off to cancel flights and res's...... Beeee good. squidsy

No way to say it nicely...THAT SUCKS!!!! in many ways. 1 being that your insurance was jacked up that much and 2 that you will not be able to make it to the Rally I think I might hold off on cancelling those tickets and reservsations until the absolute last minute...just in case something changes.Last year we had a huge wrench thrown into our plans. We had already bought 5 plane tickets, but by the time the Rally got here we had a major problem with our vendor and they couldn't pay us for 45 days. We were busted! We decided we were going no matter what, even if we had to sleep in the lobby and shower by the pool. My uncle ended up loaning us money to hold us over until our payment came in, so we were barely able to pay for the hotel. Couldn't rent a car and head to Hollywood and Venice Beach like we usually do, and had to eat off the value menu at Taco Bell and McD's...but we made it!!! and it was worth it!! Thanks all y'all. I admit ta my share of tears this time. This is twice something's happened, I had reservations last year too. But to have to not go for insurance reasons (the bane of our existence down here)......honestly, my lips go numb fo all the things I wanna say (that can't be said on a happy family channel like this one! ).I appreciate the lovely thoughts, sweeties. SQUIDDIE!!! $1700 for flood insurance?! Are you shacked up with Spongebob Squarepants??It would suck SO BAD not to see you at the Rally. I say "would" cause I'm with Tricia...it's still over two months til the Rally and something may happen yet. You certainly deserve for something to happen. If you haven't cancelled yet, wait at least few more weeks, expecially since the insurance isn't due til November either...
