i saw several members videotaping last year, but some mentors/teachers/presenters etc. were ok with it and some weren't. i think you can bring your camera but definitely ask first if you can record.

wtaI suggest you call Taxi with your request (According to the Rally schedule, there are panels in the Grand Ballroom all day long for 3 days (maybe 18 or 20 panels), and 20 or so smaller classes in meeting rooms each day, running concurrently with each other & the panels, plus Mentor Appointments, Mentor Lunches, Open Mics, etc. I would think it might be difficult to video them all.)

This is something people have asked for from the beginning. So I remember before one of the earlier Rallies some years ago Michael asked his entire Taxi mailing list if people would be interested in this if it was offered at a nominal fee (to cover their cost of doing so). The answer was an overwhelming yes, so they taped the entire thing. Then, when the time came to buy the tapes, only a handful of the hundreds of people who said they would actually bought them, causing Taxi a significant loss. So I think it's safe to say you won't see Michael try this again anytime soon.Besides Vikki is right, the thing has grown so much over the years it would be damn near impossible to do these days.Sorry to be the bearer of bad news...

Although taping would be great, and the information gathered would be beneficial, all the real action happens elsewhere. The major benefit is being there and having face time with everyone.

My husband made an interesting suggestion about having a televised sort of Rally for those members who can't attend. You can log in with a password and watch it over the internet as it's happening. Of course, that might take away from certain people going to the Rally physically...although there are folks who like to go for the social networking aspect of it. Maybe this has been suggested before, I dunno. I also know they have to hire guest speakers and they need to be compensated monetarily. (not sure about that though) It's probably much more preferable for them to be speaking to an audience in person. And plus, there are events going on at the same time probably, so the logistics of that would be hard to pull off.
