Hi all... I'll be teaching these two classes again at the 2015 Road Rally. I taught the song structure class for the first time last year and received excellent feedback on it. The music business class has been a steady crowd pleaser for a few years now. Please join me!!

:D Casey

Simple Song Structures That Sell!
Struggling to get more songs forwarded and attract the ears of A&R people? Often it’s all about structure and beginner songwriters (and some experienced folks!) often miss the basics. Verses? Pre-Choruses? Choruses? Bridges? Casey Hurowitz, who has had many music placements and songs signed with music libraries, will talk about all those sections from both a musical and lyrical point of view. The class will listen to examples of popular songs and discuss what makes them tick as far as structure. Casey will also try to take CDs from the class and play some songs for discussion. So bring CDs and lyric sheets! Class participation strongly encouraged!

Music Business & The Terminology It Uses
Overwhelmed by the business side of music and all the terminology people use but you really aren’t sure about? This is a great “101” primer for the beginner or even the experienced! Confused about copyrights, publishing, how we make money from our music, royalties, Film/TV deals, reversion, exclusive, non-exclusive, work-for-hire, etc? Casey Hurowitz, who has a track record of many music placements himself, is a TAXI member who has grown by leaps and bounds during his membership. He is a prolific contributor to the TAXI forum and is highly regarded by the legions of members who are hungry for the answers to their music business questions. Want to shave months, maybe years off your learning curve? Then join Casey to get all your questions answered in plain, easy-to-understand language (from a non-lawyer perspective).

For a first-timer/Newbie, it's okay to plug shamelessly... it's helpful to know ahead of time what to look for... or avoid, as the "Case" may be. :?
Yours sounds like one I'd like to check out.
Thanks for the post.
Now - if you can just teach me to sing it like ol' Jimmy...oh my goodness!!

Hi Casey

I took a class of yours at Road Rally two years ago that covered the business end of music and was very impressed. You were clear and concise on a 'not so easy to understand' topic. I look forward to attending your class at the upcoming RR, as I know I will gain some valuable insights. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!

Trina

PS Bringing my daughter, who is just starting out with songwriting...your class will be perfect for her!

Thanks Mojo!

Just a note that I have TWO classes on the schedule now. See up top for both descriptions!

I will have lots of great info in simple Powerpoint presentations and there will lots of class participation.

No, there will not be free pizza or chips unless Jimmy Carvalho provides them.

Hope to see you there!
