Song Structure class - Rally 2017

Hey all
Just a little shameless self-promotion regarding my upcoming class at the 2017 Road Rally. As I did the past few years, I'll be teaching the class, "Song Structures That Sell". Although the class is geared more for beginners, hopefully everyone can take away something from it.

We will listen to hit songs of various styles from the past and present and tune in to the structures, how they employ verse, pre-chorus, chorus, bridge, etc. both from a musical and lyrical point of view. Time permitting, I'll try to play some songs from the audience so have a CD ready. Even better would be a lyric sheet as well, folded & rubber banded to the CD.

I got the idea for the class years ago, listening to songs posted in peer to peer, mainly by beginners. I found myself answering questions with similar information and decided that members could benefit from a class like this.

Looking forward to seeing some of you there!

Warmest
Casey

Hi Casey, sounds very interesting! Will you be covering mainly song structures with vocals, or instrumentals as well? -Jeff

Actually, it's all about vocal songs. But good question!

I cover the musical structures but also touch on the lyrics differences between sections of vocal songs.

Best
