Just tried to book a room and the web page came back and said
The Westin Los Angeles Airport - Thank you for your interest in the Westin Los Angeles Airport. The dates you have requested are either outside the contracted group block, or the group block is currently full. Please contact our reservations department at 1-800-Westin-1 for further assistance.
So I'm guessing the block is full, yes?

Dear Members,
Some of you may have tried to reserve rooms at the Westin over the weekend
and were told or received a message that the hotel is “sold out”. This is
not true. The hotel is sold out of rooms with KING beds. There are still
plenty of rooms with DOUBLE beds available. Whether you call the Westin or
book online, request double beds and you should have no problem making your
reservation.
These rooms are selling very fast so please make your hotel reservations
today. If you have questions or need assistance, please email
tina@taxi.com

Michael,
I made my reservations with the Hotel on Friday, and was told that they were completely booked for the first night with the "group rate". So I still got a room, but its the full price. Does this sound right to you?
Thank you!

I don't mean to be a smartass, but the line immediately above your post reads:
"If you have questions or need assistance, please email tina@taxi.com"
So doing that would likely get you an answer right away...

Haha you're right. I actually did end up e-mailing and getting everything squared away. I hear it's useful to use your brain every once in awhile.
