So...I'm trying to juggle the thought of getting to the Rally as soon as I can. I'll be flying from Seattle. My problem is that Thursday is a big teaching day for me. Think $$$. So I was wondering about the sign up line on Thursday. About how long will registration remain open? I know that I won't be able to get there very early, but I'd like to still sign up with somebody! :D Any words of wisdom here? Thanks!

hey Seth,

I looked at my rally packet from last year and it appears that both registration and the mentor signups stay open until "close" that night, which is around 11:30pm. And if for some reason you're not able to get a mentor that night, they also have "drive by" mentor sessions that go on Friday night (and Saturday night???) as well, for people who weren't able to get signed up on Thursday.

Looking forward to meeting you there!

Ahhh...I see. Good to know. I'll see how it goes Thursday, and as a last resort, I can always rely on a fly by Friday mentor. Thanks for the info Big Blue.

And Congrats by the way with your recent 5 tracks with MTV's teen mom show!! Awesome news! :D Your tunes always kill!
Great work as always.

Seth

Hey Seth - you won't be sorry for coming to the rally - it's a blast!

One quick note about the 1 on 1 mentor thing - they are really cool, but people start lining up for registration by noon and by 5 or 6 at night the line is out into the underground parking lot. However there are only so many 10 or 15 minute slots available with the mentors so they go very fast. That's what people start lining up for at noon on Thurs - their favorite mentor. Last year I did the drive by mentoring instead. It was cool - I had to wait probably 40 minutes to talk to the person I wanted to talk with, but it was worth it! So don't give up hope if everybody you wanted for 1 on 1 is taken by the time you get there. Many of them are avaible at the drive bys, or to just talk to in the bar or whatever in the evenings!

see you there

Thanks for asking the question Seth - I'm in the same boat, arriving around 11:30pm Thursday.

Cool, Barry/Chris; good info. Appreciate the share.
See you at the Rally!!

Yeah, the slots do fill up pretty quickly. I'd add two things - many of us are also available for private consultations - so if the person you really wanted to talk to is full, you can ask about that. And have a sense of what you want to ask/know before you sit down for any of the mentoring sessions - those 15 minutes go by FAST!
