So I just wanted to put it out there that because of all the really really cool things people say about the Rally I just booked a room at the Westin even though I live less than 20 miles away from it because I want to be there the entire time and get the full experience.

All in all I am a shy guy but will do my very best to meet as many peeps as I can.

C U there.... :geek:

That's really not a bad idea at all. I've heard on many local folks taking a room there. It's hard to beat the 40 second commute between your room and the lobby and it's great "immersion"... The Taxi room rate is very reasonable, especially for an LA area hotel.

And if you have a few beers on Mojo's bar tab (Just tell the cocktail waitress, the guy in the cowboy hat is buying), you don't have to worry about driving.

Make sure you put a dot on your badge (Any stationary store stick on dot will do) so other forum members will quickly recognize you as a forumite. Dave Walton came up with that idea a few years back and it's been fantastic.

Many a shy folk has quickly become very un-shy when surrounded by people with the same interests, other forum members, etc. Hang around the lobby area near the bar. We call that the “Dot Lounge”.

Looking forward to meeting you!

:D Casey

Just wanted to second Casey's comment about staying at the rally hotel. my first 3 rallies i lived locally and commuted to the rally. they were great, but i get so much more out of the rallies by staying at the hotel.

and don't worry about being shy, it's the easiest place in the world to meet and talk to people because we all have an insane passion for music in common so we immediately have something to talk about!

see you there :D

Thanks, Haz.

As you prob remember 18 miles here = 45 min to an hour (or more) AND I figure I will be hitting up the "Lounge" to help overcome my shyness in person. ;)
