MOVIE PRODUCER needs a STRIPPED-DOWN SINGER/SONGWRITER SONG for FEATURE FILM. They're looking for an ORIGINAL DOWNTEMPO SONG with MALE vocals a la: "Trouble Weighs a Ton" by Dan Auerbach http://bit.ly/WvReER Musically, they need a song with a similar tempo, vibe and style. Submit songs that have a stripped-down and softly strummed acoustic sound. The song will play during a scene where a character has reached his low point. He is down-and-out -- at the end of his rope and just passively letting life happen to him. But it's not entirely bleak. He's approaching this with a slight smirk on his face. We need to hear a bit of "The South" here but anything with too much of a Country twang might push it too far from the contemporary sound of the reference. Please submit full-length songs (no instrumentals) at least 2 minutes long. You must own or control 100% of the master and the composition to submit for this listing. They have a typical Indie Film budget and it pays a standard “festival license fee” upfront with a “step deal” that increases your synch fee as the film becomes more successful. This is a film by an experienced director, whose prior work has been officially selected to screen at the Sundance Film Festival. This is DIRECT-to-PRODUCER so you will keep 100% of the fees and royalties. All songs must be original -- no covers please. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO basis. Submissions must be received no later than Monday, January 14, 2013, 10:30AM PST. TAXI #U130114SS
A bit over 2 years and it finally happened - think the Berklee mixing course & Mike Joly Moded Mics might have paid off?
