Hi there,I got offered a deal with a Dallas-based music library for 18 of my songs which is great.The only thing...they want exclusive right, so I won't be able to pitch those to another library. STill, I can put them on CDs and sell them, but no library-usage.Any experiences with that?ThanksWalter

Walter,Way to Go!!! This sounds like an outstanding opportunity.In terms of your question on the deal and based on my limited experience this is typically how music libraries work. They basically treat the songs as a work for hire and buy the whole song, copyright and all. You will typically get to keep 100% of the writers share on any licenses and performance royalties. In many cases they will allow you to continue using the songs for your own promotional efforts and your own cd sales.With them being interested in that many songs they must definitely see a good market for your material, meaning they think they can place the songs which will mean more money for you and for them. Kurt, thanks for your input. And to you oth guys for the encouragement. Actually they'll sign 2/3 of my music that I did already before I joined TAXI. But that music wouldn't have had that major output without TAXI and still be mainly on a few CDs sold here and there. I want the world to be able to listen to it...and now it will!Walter
