Anyone out there get a forward they want to share for the recent dispatch listing for QUIRKY & FUN SONGS? Mine was declined:Forget Me NotProbably not really contemporary enough, and/or the vocals aren't quite up to the bar.If anyone has one that made it, I'd love to hear it and see what they were looking for!-peace-Full Listing:CONTEMPORARY, QUIRKY & FUN SONGS WITH VOCALS are needed by a high-profile Music Supervisor for a Major Network TV SERIES that revolves around the main character who suffers from amnesia, forcing her to find out who she really is. These songs could range from “left of center” Indie Pop, Alt Rock, Singer-Songwriter, etc. to a more obviously comedic lyrical/melodic approach. While the lyrics should be light and playful, they shouldn’t be too specific in terms of story line or a progression of events. A universally fun tone should be the primary focus, lyrically and musically. The musical tone should be current-sounding and the performances must be excellent. Male or female vocals are just fine. This is a broadcast quality listing, so be sure the recordings are great. Please submit one to three songs online or per CD. reading this post made me realize that I posted a tune and logged in.Never got an email, but the song was returnedit's tough to really know the reason...just keep on recording and it will all work itself out in the end!

Hey djdeweese!I really liked your song! I have no idea why it didn't make it thru. Maybe it wasn't "quirky" enough? i.e. goofy? I dunno. I think it rocks! With Dispatch, you never know the reasons why a track gets returned. But -- this is just ONE listing. Hey -- it's me again. After I posted that, I had sort of an epiphany. Have you guys seen the movie "Juno"? I saw it the other day on the plane (great freakin' movie). Check out the songs from that. Those are about as quirky and wacky as you can get. They aren't songs that you would hear on the radio really, but they totally fit. They are just soooo way out there. Go to iTunes and give 'em a listen. That's probably the type of stuff they were lookin' for.Just my 2 or 3 cents worth.Cheers!Chuck

I got a return as well...Picking up on what 10west mentioned, I just saw "JUNO" as well and during the movie I was thinking, "Wow, these songs would never get through TAXI"... , but they are "quirky" and are a good fit for the flick.

If we're using Juno as a standard, the chances are maybe only one or two folks got forwarded. Like RLD said, Taxi wouldn't have let through some of the songs in that movie. Well, most of the songs, actually.
