Seductive Forward & Light Comedy Return

Hello - I just got me second forward. It was for the dramatic/seductive instrumental. I sent this in on a whim but mostly becuse it fit into the 60 second time constraint. I was kind of surprised it was forwarded because to my ear the mood it conveys is more romantic then seductive:http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... m=1However, I wrote this piece specifaclly for the light/ comedic instrumental listing (the one that was also 30 to 60 second time restriction) and I thought that I nailed it. I also believe it is much stronger and better written then the first piece. Anyway, it was returned:http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... stream=1Go figure!- JimGo figure

Well, judging by Cyndy's thread, the first one fit quite nicely.......I like it as a dramatic piece but I see the romance in it. They're apparently taking a rather broad view of what's seductive on this listing. Nicely done. The only thing I can figure why your comedic piece was returned (and this is reaching) is that it isn't light, it's a bit more dark, but it totally fits the comedic aspect. Me? I'd call 'em and ask Sebastien for a re-listen. That one deserves another chance.Anyway, congrats on the forward for the seductive piece!

Here they are-http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... am=trueThe screener said they were on target & I believe I nailed this listing as well. I called yesterday morning for some clarification & was informed that Sebastien is no longer the head screener; Robin is. I left a voice mail with Robin & I haven't heard back yet. Hopefully today...

The Light Comedy listing was very high bar & they were looking for well produced, quirky, creative 'light' tracks.

The Light Comedy listing was very high bar & they were looking for well produced, quirky, creative 'light' tracks. I've read a fair bit of advice by senior members here to contact TAXI directly if a member has an issue with a return. In fact, most senior members suggest doing that before posting anything on the forums. Which is why I took that advice & called Robin. She didn't return my call yesterday & she wasn't working today. I'm still hoping that she will call me tomorrow. I realize that they're busy people, so I am being patient. In the case of the 2 songs I had returned, one of them had recently been forwarded to another listing, albeit the longer version. (The second one I listed above.) The mix was the same; only the arrangement had been changed to accommodate the time request. As for this listing being high bar, can you explain where in the listing it indicates that? And how high bar is high bar? Is there an indication anywhere that suggests this particular library is looking for something better than what the other libraries are looking for? Here's the older listing followed by the listing in question.----Playful CARTOON INSTRUMENTALS are once again sought by a West Coast-based Music Publisher who typically supplies music to companies such as Muzak (tracks for retail shops, restaurants, malls, etc.). He's been expanding his repertoire and wants to find great material for the upcoming TV season, as he has numerous contacts in that world as well. He's open to all types of instrumentation. Think along the lines of the underscore in Bugs Bunny/Road Runner/Warner Bros./Hanna-Barbera cartoons as a good example of what he's seeking -- fun, slapstick, energetic. He's asked us to be extra selective in what we forward -- he wants quality over quantity -- so your instrumental performances must be excellent. Your submissions should be between 1:00 -- 3:00 minutes in length. Please do not submit material with samples that have NOT already been cleared. He offers numerous types of publishing deals. If forwarded for D071117CT, please do not submit the same material here. Broadcast quality needed [excellent home recordings are OK]. CONTEMPORARY LIGHT/COMEDIC INSTRUMENTALS are needed by an East Coast Music Library who provides music for popular ad campaigns and various Film/TV projects. They need high quality, well produced :30 and :60 segments for their premium library. Instrumentation and style is open but the sound should be high energy and exciting. Broadcast quality is definitely needed here. Please submit 2-3 segments online or per CD.I guess the word definitely could be the deal breaker here but, it seems to me, the cartoon listing was at least a little easier to decipher. Wade

I used the term 'high bar' because I was in a rush and I think that was an incorrect phrase to use. I think the LIGHT, but EXCITING *and* HIGH ENERGY comedy listing was tough to target effectively... as we were discussing before the listing closed. However when I listen to the Forwards I kinda 'get' it, and I think the word that was missing from the listing was CREATIVE and/or QUIRKY. H
