Merry (early) Christmas

Wow…yesterday was a banner day. I ended up getting 2 forwards in one day – one for a Buddha Bar listing, and then this Christmas one. This one is kind of a cool story though. A few years ago, a couple of my best friends and I decided to do a Christmas CD for our families and friends for a nice little Christmas present. We figured it would be a great gift from the heart and was so much better than some ordinary knick knack bought at the mall. lol! We had so much fun doing it – it was a great week with 2 of my bestest friends in the world! Geez, I think we were probably drunk half the time. Hee hee. Anyway, I saw this listing and thought “what the heck -- why not submit one of ‘em”. This is my arrangement of “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” – I chose it ‘cuz I thought the jazzy chord changes I came up with were kinda cool. I guess Mr. Screener dug it as well. He (or she) gave me 9’s and 10’s, and here are a couple of the comments:“The lead and harmonies carry the echo of your favorite R&B singers”“Any station that plays Biran McKnight, Usher, Stevie, can play this all December!”The only slight bummer is that the listing turned out to be for a company that I’ve already been working with now for over a year (it was the result of a Taxi listing back in 2007). I was hoping to make a new contact, but oh well…maybe on the next one.Anyway, here is my version of “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen”:http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... ream=1Hope y’all like it. And oh yeah, I guess the point I was trying to make is – always revisit old tracks that are lying around collecting dust -- you never know what little gems you might have that are just stuck up somewhere in the closet and forgotten about.Happy Holidays!Chuck
