I got a couple of forwards for the following;WORLD/ETHNIC SONGS NEEDED (with Vocals) by an Independent Label with major distribution to license for an upcoming multi-CD compilation project. They are open to music from "The Islands", the Caribbean, Australia, Africa, Madagascar, Iceland, Ireland (but not Scotland), etc. While open to many styles, they are most interested in the "island" feel. They're looking for music that has a commercial world/ethnic appeal. Lyrics in any language are fine, as long as they sound authentic. Bringer of LightHOT ACTION INSTRUMENTALS are needed by an East Coast Music Library/Publisher who has signed and placed dozens of TAXI songs. He specifically needs driving underlying rhythms and punches, with tons of adrenaline and building suspense. These segments should be on the cutting edge of contemporary, with an exciting drive and percussive turning points. He wants tracks that are in the 1:30 to 3:00 range. If he likes your track and is interested in signing a deal, he’ll also want :30 and :60 second edits as well. FrenzyI didn’t receive an e-mail notification for these. This seems to be happening lately so it doesn’t hurt to check your account. You might be pleasantly surprised!!!!!

Hey Tom,I remember "Frenzy"... cool that you got a forward. I like "Bringer of Light" a lot. Where are the chants coming from? Dave

Dave:Frenzy was the one you thought the StormDrum patches sounded too busy for your taste Fortunately this one's been forwarded twice now The African chants are from Spectrasonics Heart of Africa I and II.I bought that literally about 11 years ago in the audio format.I probably should convert some of those discs to Rex files and pull them into Stylus RMX now.

Quote:Dave:Frenzy was the one you thought the StormDrum patches sounded too busy for your taste Fortunately this one's been forwarded twice now "Listen To Dave" t-shirts have been taking a hit lately. I'm actually glad to know that. That's part of the great info here on the forum. I think I mentioned in that post that your track had me second-guessing the drums/percussion in an uptempo "high-octane" track I did. Based on your results, I think I'll stop second-guessing that and just put it out there for future listings (I had the flu the week of the high-octane deadline and missed it). Thanks!Dave

HI Tom!I love to try to figure out WHY someone writes something. What's the backstory? In the case of Frenzy I can figure it out..but in the case of bringer of light...WHERE did the inspiration come from? Both great tracks....GOOD LUCK!!J
