ORIGINAL JAZZ MUZAK-STYLE (Elevator Music) INSTRUMENTALS are needed by the Music Supervisor of a hit TV Show. They’re searching for Mid-Tempo Jazz Muzak that you’d typically hear in an elevator scene. Please listen to the following examples to get a solid idea of the type of track they need: “The Girl from Ipanema” by Smooth Jazz All Stars “Elevator Music: Jazz Lounge Music Club” “Smooth Jazz” Give them Instrumentals that instantly sound just kitschy enough that anybody who hears it would think, “Elevator Muzak!” If it’s a little cheesy, that’s a good thing! MIDI sounds are fine for this pitch, but not so much that it feels too stiff or robotic. Repetitive, memorable hooks will well for this pitch. Although they want Instrumentals, if your Track has vocalizations like group vocals doing “la-las” or “da-da-dums,” those are okay to pitch as well. If you’ve got Tracks that could evoke a “Yep, that’s cheesy elevator music” smile, send them in! Please avoid submitting Cues that are so frenetic that they could distract from dialog in the scene. The estimated license fee for this use is $500 - $1,000. This is a Direct-to-Music Supervisor placement, so you’ll keep 100% of your Publishing and Master rights, plus you’ll also keep 100% of the sync fee and any applicable performance royalties. You must own or control 100% of the Copyright and Master to pitch for this opportunity. Broadcast Quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine). Please do NOT copy or rip off the referenced artists or music in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, texture, tone, and vibe. All Instrumentals will be screened on a Yes/No basis by a Music Coordinator working directly on the show. No full critiques. Please submit 1-3 Instrumentals no later than Friday, September 26th, 2014, by 11am (PDT). TAXI #U140926MZ
