End of a dry spell

I just saw that the 2 submissions I made to the following listing were both forwarded. It was a nice listing to get forwards to.

My mentor at the Rally suggested I focus on some acoustic submissions. I did, and it helped. But Bobby P. is still a Rocker at heart. I am going to keep at acoustic material also though.

ACOUSTIC GUITAR-BASED NEW AGE INSTRUMENTAL TRACKS are needed by the Music Supervisor of a promising new TV Show. He’s looking for lush Down-to-Mid-Tempo Instrumental Tracks in the general stylistic ballpark of artists like Will Ackerman, Michael Hedges, Alex de Grassi, etc. Please review the following Tracks to get in the general wheelhouse of the sound he needs: “Big Thing In the Sky” by Will Ackerman “Chava’s Song” by Michael Hedges “Western” by Alex de Grassi Quoting the show’s Music Coordinator: “This will play as source music for a yoga/meditation room type environment, so the music shouldn’t compete with the scene, but add depth, and compliment it well.” Give him soothing material that has a reflective quality, that can put the audience at ease. Submissions should have well-played acoustic guitar as the primary melody, with a clear New Age production. Additional instrumentation like lightly played strings or piano could also work, but it’s not absolutely necessary if the acoustic guitar performance can stand on it’s own. Submissions should be at least 2 minutes in length. Please do NOT copy or rip off the referenced artists in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, texture, tone, and vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine). The estimated license fee for this use is $1,000 - $2,000. This is a Direct-to-Music Supervisor placement, so you’ll keep 100% of your Publishing and Master rights, plus you’ll keep 100% of the sync fee and any applicable performance royalties. You must own or control 100% of the Copyright and Master to pitch for this opportunity. All Instrumentals will be screened on a Yes/No basis by a Music Coordinator working directly on the show. No full critiques. Please submit 1-3 Instrumentals no later than 4pm (PST), on Wednesday, November 12th, 2014. TAXI #U141112NA

Yay!

Congrats Bob

Nice tunes and a great sounding acoustic guitar. I think your mentor was right. Nice job.

Yeh, nice stuff, Mr. P.
fwiw: the 2nd piece with the nylon/classical guitar, imho, sounds well-suited to and worthy
of another version with accompaniment... as in a string quartet;
some sonic dynamics and counterparts that would really make that melody "pop".
Congrats on the forwards.
Cheers,
Peter

Cool, Bob.

Ya know, it's funny how we end up writing in genres that are outside our "love interest." And then find success in that... and then sorta migrate that direction...
hmmmmmm 8-)

Nice work, Bob. Follow that trail of breadcrumbs wherever it leads. If it takes you away from your usual focus, that's okay. It just might lead to a mansion on the beach, so just keep after it! Obviously it's working so far!!

My first time here on boards and a new member since 11/19/2014.
I like what Russell and Matt say about following your strengths. As a bassist I know I can shine on many different genres but I'm thinking about funk and groove to stand apart. Wished I had an upright but I guess wishes can come true. Hmmm I actually have a friend, Steve Azola, who I not only worked for back in the day but I bet can hook me up w/ an Azola Bass.
Also my vocals will be my strong point for these submissions. I've tuned into Sirius Hits 1 and am digging some of the voices I'm hearing like Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran. I can do the Smith soul.

Sorry for the digression Bob P. Congratulations and I love your acoustic work brother. There's a lot of video out there begging for some sweet audio.
