COMPELLING INDIE ROCK SONGS with Male Vocals are needed for an (up to) $5,000 placement (see below) by a NON-Exclusive Publisher that’s supplying songs directly to the Music Supervisor of a critically acclaimed TV Series. They’re looking for rockin’ Mid-to-Up-Tempo Songs that could be found on a playlist with artist like (but not limited to) Nicky Blitz, James Appolo, Shinedown, etc., etc., etc. Please listen to the following references (we got from the client) to get an idea of what could work for this pitch: “Hawk” by Nicky Blitz: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GSMXZKQxeFU “Two Lane” by James Appolo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wYwymTpvJjk “Rebellion” by Arcade Fire: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQvZ4N1RfS8 Submit rhythmically and melodically interesting songs that have a compelling Indie Rock sound, with electronic and live sounding instrumentation. Having catchy, unique hooks, fresh melodies, and a strong chorus will help you grab the attention of this Music Publisher and ultimately, the Music Supervisor. A distinctive vocal sound/identity could also help you stand out for this pitch. Lyric themes can vary, but should be something that would sound appropriate in the Indie Rock genre. Universal lyrics will work best, so please avoid using specific names, places, dates, times, brands, and profanity. Do NOT copy the referenced bands or songs in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a guide for tempo, texture, and tone. Genre appropriate sounding broadcast quality is needed – in other words, Lo-Fi, distorted, and fuzzy could work for this! NOTE: The sync fee we were quoted for this placement was actually $5,000 - $10,000. However, our experience tells us that sync fees in that range are usually based on the show licensing a song from a well-known act. The sync fee will likely be in the $1,500 - $2,000 range for an unknown act, or a “library cut.” This Publisher offers a NON-EXCLUSIVE 50/50 deal. You’ll get 50% of the sync fee and 100% of the Writer’s share. They’ll get 50% of the sync fee and 100% of the Publisher’s Share. You’ll keep 100% of the original copyright and master. You must own or control your Master and Copyright to submit for this. Please submit one to three Songs online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis by a TAXI screener handpicked by the Publisher - No full critiques. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59PM (PDT), on Tuesday, May 30th, 2017. TAXI #Y170530RS
