Rocktronica forward

Post by stick » Mon Dec 03, 2007 7:18 am

I was 1 for 2 on the Rocktronica listing... I listened to my 2nd one the day I got the email and was like "yep, that 2nd one sucked... glad they didn't forward it". And the bonus, is the company it went to is one of the few selected hand shakes and business cards I went after at the Rally. I sure hope they sign it... Here's the good one.And the sucky one, if you're a glutton for punishment.

Nah, I whipped out my $75 Yamaha Pacifica, tuned it to an open power chord and slid my index finger around. I suck at guitar. And yeah, I did the drums myself, the sounds are BFD.Same for the 2nd, but the drums are a loop I built myself with UltraBeat sounds in Logic, and then moved to ProTools and cut it up as needed.

(Didn't want to sully the taste in my mouth, so I didn't listen to the "sucky" one...yet.)And I should only HOPE to suck at guitar as good as you do.I'm thinking a CSI episode... Great news, my friend.

Well, you sounded like a guitarist to me, and I am one! Nice job-congrats on the forward.Don't think of the other as bad. Just think of it as "Off Target"

Ha ha... thanks Paul... you guys are too kind. It's all about the editing for me... find that one little bit of playing that's passable and loop it to death. Yeah, hearing the other one again today, it's not THAT bad... it just has too high a "dorky" factor for this listing. Maybe I'll rework it when something else similar comes up.

I play keyboards the same way- get it close once, edit the MIDI data. Then, paste it like crazy...

Stick,Cool track and very worthy of a forward. I consider what we do is very much akin to creating illusions. You created the illusion that you could actually play guitar. On some tracks, I've created the illusion that I could play the Erhu. All this to say is we are very much in business of "fooling all of the people, all of the time"It helps if part of the "people" is a TAXI screener Chuck
