Omg !!! After 5 month & 23 returns I'm happy to share that my songs Let’s Dance & Moon Face received a Direct-to-Music Supervisor Forward for placement in a popular HBO TV Series.
ORIGINAL, RETRO-Style SOUL SONGS with Male Vocals are needed U-R-G-E-N-T-L-Y for several (up-to) $2,000, NON-Exclusive, Direct-to-Music Supervisor placements in a popular HBO TV Series. They’re looking for authentic, Down-to-Mid-Tempo Songs (Contemporary/retro-sounding or Vintage Recordings can both work) that would fit in the general stylistic wheelhouse of the following references we got directly from the Music Supervisor: “Things Are Getting Better” by George Jackson: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VuFqYIUyPdc “How Much I Feel” by Ambrosia: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQB5qpxcixc “About Noon “ by The Mar-keys: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n26Tqq_1AzM NOTE: Although “The Mar-keys” song is an Instrumental performance, please use it as a general guide for production style and overall vibe and sound. Please submit soulfully expressive songs that have all the retro appeal of the references above. Your submission should have solid production, catchy melodies, captivating lyrics and a great big, infectious chorus. This Music Supervisor is open to hearing both vintage-sounding and recently recorded Songs that sound retro. Be sure your vocal performance is compelling, with a vocal delivery that’s great from top to bottom! NOTE: We think the lyrics in the references might hold some of the appeal for this show. The show’s main character spends quite a bit of times trying to figure his life out, so it’s easy to see how the lyrics in the refs could work well for that. That concept, and the retro aspect, combined, should give you some pretty cool direction for what could work well in this TV Series! Universal lyrics that avoid references to specific names, dates, times, places, brands and profanity might give you some edge, but we don’t think they’re an absolute necessity. Please do NOT copy the referenced artists in any way, shape, or form. Use them as a general guide for tempo, tone, and overall vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine). The estimated license fee for placements in this TV Series is (up-to) $2,000, depending on the ultimate use. This is a Non-Exclusive, Direct-to-Music Supervisor placement, so you’ll keep 100% ownership of your Copyright and Master Recording, plus you’ll also get 100% of the Master License Fee and any applicable performance royalties. You must own or control your Copyright and Master Recording to pitch for this opportunity. Please submit as many Songs you’d like online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis - Short Critiques only. We have it on good authority that somebody from the Music Supervision team might be screening these for TAXI, time permitting.
Much appreciation and gratitude, TAXI!
