9 more forwards - DARK and DRONE-Y INSTRUMENTAL CUES
Posted: Wed Jun 12, 2019 12:20 pm
Hey guys -
As some of you may know, I seem to have a knack for these things called Drone Cues.
I posted earlier this year about my last Forwards, then went and wrote a bunch more, upgraded to Dispatch when I spotted this listing, and sent in a pile of 14, nine of them were forwarded.
The ones that were returned were called out for not having the "natural decaying" or "ring out" ending, but essentially all 14 got favorable comments from the screeners.
I do enjoy writing these, and even though Michael commented about how crowded the field is for instrumental drones, I'm not concerned.
A few months ago I never had even heard of a drone!
In the last few months I've written 30, 9 have been signed, and another 11 have been forwarded.
I think I'll go write some more.
Jay
P.S. Here's a Playlist of all 30 if you're curious as to what they sound like:

DARK and DRONE-Y INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by an International Music Library that needs lots of new music to keep up with client requests! Please submit “drone-y” Instrumental Cues in the general stylistic ballpark of the following references:
Sinister Dark Ambient
Dark Ambient Background Music
Please send them subtle Instrumental Cues with very little melodic movement. Your Cues should have a droning quality that delivers an unsettling, moody, sort of ominous feel. Be sure to stick to a singular vibe and sound throughout the entire Cue to keep your piece emotionally cohesive from beginning to end. In other words, don't try to score an imaginary scene. Instead, give them one "vibe" from beginning to end because they'll figure out how and where they want to use it.
All submissions should be about 1:30 in length, give or take. Non-Faded Endings with a natural decay/ring out will likely work best. Do NOT copy the referenced artists or songs in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, tone, and overall vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed.
This company offers an EXCLUSIVE deal, so please be sure the instrumentals you pitch for this opportunity are NOT already signed with any other Companies or Catalogs. Any sync fees will be split 50/50 with the Company. You'll get 100% of the Writer's share, and the Publisher will get 100% of the Publisher's share. You must own or control your Master and Copyright to submit. Please submit as many Instrumental Cues as you'd like, online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis - No full critiques. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59PM (PDT) on Wednesday, June 5th, 2019. TAXI Dispatch #D190605DR
