Congrats on that kind of success and affirmation, Robert.
Most folks who pay attention to TAXI TV and these forums are well aware of the high-bar that is Nashville Country -
classic or new/contemporary.
The Epiphany Shower - there's your next song title... write a winner!
I'd be as stoked as you if/when one of my Country creations were deemed 'worthy'.
Cheers,
Peter
PS: WOW!! What a super track!

I'll try to RePete your good advice!
I'm always repete'n myself.

Congratulations on the forward, Robert. The topic is certainly relevant, and the title is a cool angle on that topic. Excellent demo, too.
I think your "modified" slogan seems healthy. As much as I understand the "forget" part of the slogan you're modifying in the context of cues, and there is some applicability to songwriting in general in the sense of practicing one's craft and enjoying the process, I don't fully subscribe to the "forget" philosophy when it comes to writing songs.
I've been known to rewrite songs after 15 years if I felt the underlying concept and angle was solid but the song itself wasn't quite working out for one reason or another. I *think* 15 years represents my longest rewrite to date.

But in the specific case I'm thinking of, it made the difference between a song that people who heard it really liked, but having a publisher I thought should pick it up pass on it, which caused me to do some serious soul searching on the song, and having that same publisher pick it up the next year, after the rewrite. While he didn't end up signing it, the rewritten version of the song became the first of my songs to be recorded by another artist, getting two different cuts within a couple of years after the rewrite, getting performed by multiple other artists in churches, and even getting a recording I made of it myself placed on a multi-artist charity CD alongside some recognizable acts prior to the point where I started putting out recordings on my own. Mind you the song still hasn't gotten to the point of being cut by a well-known artist, but "small victories..."
Good luck with your song and your songwriting.
Rick

Well done Rob!
You deserve the victory dance... no matter how small in the spectrum of things. Any step forward is a step forward and should be celebrated as such. At the very least, a forward tells you that you write great music! ... and you do, by the way!
Keep on writing, submitting, and repeating; but don't forget to celebrate the victories no matter how small! (and yes... don't forget to not take returns personally)
Best of luck!

Excellent song!! The screener knows it needs to be heard.
I totally agree with your realistic but healthy outlook. We just keep writing the best that we can.
And yes, I think there's a song in there somewhere "Naked and wet" but keep it ...clean

the epiphany // any forward is very cool, it's just a nod that you hit the mark for this listing. Don't take it personally if you get a return. Don't be over confident when you get a forward. And, don't expect a call from the sliced bread factory any time soon.
//THERE IS NOTHING MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE NEXT SONG.
Hey Robert great stuff all around
First, congrats for a great female empowerment track, I hope the women of your household are pleased with it.
If there's someone out there collecting snippets of gold for newbies, they should definitely include the above quotes.
It's exciting to "pass the test" and get a forward, but there's reasons why we have to keep writing.
At the 2019 Road Rally, in his session, Derek Nakamoto said something along the lines of he always produces (finishes) a track as if it will be the last track he ever does.
I've been keeping it in mind ever since.
Thanks for sharing your story and best of luck with your track!

Hey Robert,
Nice job on "Real Miss America". Briana's vocals will definitely help sell it. The simplicity and build up in the song and variations on the chorus/melodies really stood out for me. Keep me posted on who you find to move it forward.
Best of luck to you,
Ron
