I've actually inspired myself coming up with one from the "I don't know what I'm doing" department. (At least that's what I tell my music-educated/educator family at home) Dad, who didn't stay in school, is learning new skills lol

Well...forward! It's been good time to learn some new skills, since touring has fallen away for a while.

Like the example, there's no B section, just a build.

A Bunch of HOPEFUL, INSPIRING INSTRUMENTALS are needed by a European Music Licensing Company with an impressive list of placements in Film, TV, and Commercials!

They’re looking for a range of Instrumentals in All Tempos that would fall within the general stylistic wheelhouse of the following references:

"I Am Me" - Fearless Motivation Instrumentals

"Hopeful Day" by Ricky Valadez

Uplifting Orchestra

Please submit well-composed Instrumentals that are emotionally uplifting and full of hope. Your submissions can be composed of Electronic, Organic, or Orchestral Instrumentation, or a hybrid of any combination of the three! There are many possibilities that could work for this request. Please be sure your submissions feel uplifting and have a developmental “arc” that builds throughout.

TAXI TIP: If you plan to use virtual instruments, please be sure that they sound like the real thing. Synthetic or obviously MIDI-driven material will not work for this pitch.

Your submissions should be about 2-3 minutes long, give or take. Non-faded endings will work best. Do NOT copy the referenced material in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, texture, tone, and overall vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed.

This company offers an EXCLUSIVE deal, so please be sure the Instrumentals you pitch for this opportunity are NOT already signed with any other Companies or Catalogs. Any sync fees will be split 50/50 with the Company. You'll keep 100% of the Writer's share, and the Publisher will get 100% of the Publisher's share. You must own or control your Master and Copyright to submit for this opportunity. Please submit as many Instrumentals as you’d like, online or per CD. All submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PDT) on Saturday, July 18th, 2020. TAXI Dispatch # D200718HT

This is great, Steve! I need to learn from your example. I tend to write my "cue" pieces too busy and complex. This is very simple. Repeats a simple motif, but is not repetitive, if you know what I mean? What are you using for your orchestral sound sources? Your virtual sounds are very believable.

Thank you John! Michael always says don't try to be [insert famous composer name]...although wouldn't it be nice to be! lol
I try to write melodies fast, keep it simple. Not second guess too much.

I recently acquired Spitfire's BBC Symphony Orchestra Core (Not Pro). One mic mix and that's all you get. Sounds great though.
Only Piano and "Middle Earth Drums" from Eastwest (Composer Cloud)

Thank you maestro Marco!
I enjoy very much figuring out those colors. Woodwinds were starting to cause a ruckus so I'm starting to give them something to do.

Yeah very nice cue, I usually stick to A-A-A-A as well...I think it makes life easier for the editors a lot of the time

Thanks! This was a great exercise for me, trying to build on the same "A". Love doing it the with orchestra samples.
