How many times I should submit the same song(s)?If the song is "good enough", am I probably getting a deal if it´s forwarded to 5-10 different libraries?Any experiences?

as long as you didn't give away rights on an exclusive basis, you can submit the same tracks to as many opps as it's suitable.I do that with some good results (deals, placements).

Quote:How many times I should submit the same song(s)?If the song is "good enough", am I probably getting a deal if it´s forwarded to 5-10 different libraries?Any experiences? There's no limit to the number of times a song can be submitted. Nobody keeps track and a song that may not work for 99 opportunities may be perfect for opportunity 100. Hopefully you won't get that far in terms of submitting a single song that many times because if you keep writing new material, then songs that seemed perfect for a particular kinds of listings will no longer seem as good, compared to your newer material. Which leads me into the "when can I expect a deal" question. There's absolutely no way to answer as each situation is unique unto itself. My best recommendation is to focus on submitting for opportunities inside and outside of Taxi and have that be where your energies are targeted. By doing that you'll continue to move forward and things will happen. Stand still waiting for results and they never seem to come. Good luck, Dave

Sorry, the question was very inaccurate. I´m writing urban/hip-hop and it dates quickly, but I guess it´s still impossible to say when I "should"stop submitting it. Like Dave said Quote: "a song that may not work for 99 opportunities may be perfect for opportunity 100"Thanks for your advice!

I appreciate the question. I have instrumentals with multiple forwards (but nothing picked up yet), and have wondered. Also curious... Any feedback on the idea/choice/decision of turning down an offer of a "buy-out" or exclusivity in the hopes of retaining publishing rights (AND the chance to get more placements with the same tune)? I'm trying to think ahead for when those instrumentals DO get picked up. Ted
