Traditional/Southern Vocal Blues Forward

It's been about 2 and half months since we last submitted anything through Taxi, partly due to a more focused approach (of only submitting to listings we think we can really deliver what they are asking for), but mostly due to being busy trying to meet deadlines to deliver cues to a couple libraries we met through previous Taxi forwards.

But a couple traditional/southern vocal blues briefs came through lately

and being from Mississippi and having worked with some legit/veteran players in the scene I figured that would be a great excuse to get my old bandmate vocalist Adib Sabir out of the house to collaborate on a track. Adib just turned 70 and he's been gigging playing/singing blues, jazz, soul, reggae etc., in many different bands for decades. In the last 4 or 5 years he's lost his wife to cancer and he's survived a stroke, an embolism, a heart attack, a torn meniscus, and most recently a fractured vertebrae after being hit by a car walking through a Target parking lot. He's like a cat with 9 lives that just won't give up on life. He came out and co-wrote and sang this song with us while still in a back brace. So I was extra pleased to tell him that the song got forwarded for both listings.

I submitted to both since both listings were so similar. I didn't want to submit it just to the southern blues one only to be told it was too traditional or vice versa. Ended up working out. Hopefully the supervisor will throw us a bone.
